About us

Carmarthen and West Wales Advanced Motorists group was formed in 1997 and was previously known as the West Wales Advanced Drivers. The group covers a large area including Carmarthenshire, the southern part of Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire.

The group currently has approximately 90 members and get together for social events which include a varied selection of speakers, and visits to interesting places. Members and non-members are always welcome at our meetings and events. The committee meet on alternate months; dates are usually posted on the website.

Members can on request (go to Contact us page to request one)receive a quarterly newsletter by post. Articles or letters for inclusion are always welcome. Details are in the newsletter or send an email to contact@cwwam.org.

Annual membership runs from October and costs £12 per year although purchasing an "Advanced Riding or Driving Course" course (£175 inclusive) includes group membership. New members are invited to join our training program - normally meeting on Sundays at 10 a.m. at  Morrisons Cafe Carmarthen.

Many of the committee members are present at these sessions, and it is possible to meet some of the group observers and have an assessment drive before deciding to take the plunge!

We also have a fast growing motorcycle section with occasional rides out.
